Systemic therapies

Systemic therapies are medications or interventions that combat cancer throughout the body.

• Chemotherapy – Some patients require chemotherapy alone to treat cancer. Others may have chemotherapy combined with other treatments, such as radiation therapy.
• Hormone therapy – Some cancers are affected by the body’s hormones. Hormone therapy seeks to block certain hormones and thus block cancer growth.
