  • Eye movement disorders of neurologic cause, including nystagmus
  • Cortical visual disturbances, including migraine visual aura
  • Visual field abnormalities from optic nerve and central nervous system diseases

(ERG) and/or visual-evoked potentials (VEP), and neuro-imaging with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and/or computed tomography (CT). The initial evaluation usually takes two to three hours.

Wayne Health’s Neuro-Ophthalmology service is based at the Kresge Eye Institute and is directed by Robert L. Advancing research and medical education

As physicians and researchers affiliated with the Wayne State School of Medicine, Wayne Health’s Neuro-Ophthalmology department is involved in patient-centered clinical research and also collaborates with basic scientists involved in vision research. This makes the latest clinical trials and treatments available to our patients sooner than other providers without a medical school affiliation.

The Neuro-Ophthalmology department is also very strongly committed to Ophthalmology and Neurology resident teaching and clinical training as part of Wayne State’s medical school.
