Wayne Health's approach to treatment

For female fertility evaluation, our team runs tests at specific times during the menstrual cycle to gather the most accurate information. These tests and procedures include: evaluation of ovarian reserve (remaining egg supply); ovulation measurement and stimulation; hormone testing; transvaginal ultrasound imaging of pelvic organs; testing of uterine cavity and fallopian tubes (sonohysterography); and semen analysis. We use a variety of methods to accurately predict the timing of ovulation and advise couples on lifestyle changes to enhance conception.

Male factor infertility is present in about half of couples seeking infertility evaluation and testing. We offer semen analysis to assess sperm count and motility; intrauterine insemination for men with abnormal semen analysis; outpatient surgical sperm recovery for men with low or no sperm; in vitro fertilization with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) for couples with low sperm count, low motility and or low morphology. We also offer egg freezing for those who want to preserve their fertility either because they are about to face genotoxic therapy for cancer or because they want to postpone getting pregnant to concentrate on their careers or do not have a partner and are facing advancing age. In collaboration with a urologist, we offer clinic-based vasectomy reversals for men who qualify for the service. We also offer sperm cryopreservation for patients facing chemotherapy and for veterans and other men traveling away from home.

Because many insurance plans do not cover infertility services, we offer competitive pricing and financial counseling once you have established fertility care with one of our physicians.
