A New Beginning: Why UPG is Restructuring

November 8, 2018

Dear UPG Community,

As of November 8th, UPG, through its Board of Directors, voted to restructure its business operations under the protection of Chapter 11 to re-align with the organization’s fundamental missions. Please note, that this Chapter 11 filing is not a business liquidation or closure. UPG will remain in operation and focused on delivering outstanding clinical care while supporting the academic mission of WSU School of Medicine.

UPG is driven to provide the highest quality care to the patients and communities we serve as we train the next generation of providers. As both a physician and WSU School of Medicine alumnus, I am truly appreciative of you, our valued UPG family.

For any additional questions or concerns regarding today’s announcement, please reference our fact sheet. Thank you for your continued service and dedication to our organization.

Thank you,

Charles Shanley, M.D., F.A.C.S.
President and CEO
