What is Wayne Health?

Formerly known as Wayne State University Physician Group, Wayne Health is a non-profit, multi-specialty group practice with nearly 400 dedicated physicians and advanced practice providers in 50 medical specialties. Wayne Health offers a full spectrum of care, from birth to end-of-life, for individuals and families throughout southeastern Michigan, and is the primary clinical service group and faculty practice plan for the Wayne State University School of Medicine.

Where is Wayne Health located?

Wayne Health has multi-specialty clinics in Detroit, Dearborn, Southfield and Troy, with single-specialty clinics in Livonia (Psychiatry), Monroe (Dermatology), and Taylor (Ophthalmology). Search the Wayne Health locations page for more information on our clinics.

Does Wayne Health have hospital affiliations?

Wayne Health physicians provide inpatient care for adult patients in select specialties and fill select medical leadership roles at the Detroit Medical Center hospitals (Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Harper University Hospital, Hurtzel Women’s Hospital, DMC Heart Hospital, DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital, DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital, DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan) and their affiliated outpatient facilities. Wayne Health also has affiliation agreements to serve patients at other top hospitals in metro Detroit, including Ascension Health, the McLaren/Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, Beaumont Health, Henry Ford Health System and St. Joseph Mercy Livonia.

What is Wayne Health’s connection with the Wayne State School of Medicine?

Many Wayne Health physicians are Wayne State University School of Medicine faculty members, training the next generation of physicians as instructors for more than 1,200 medical students and 900 residents each year This teaching role allows Wayne Health physicians to share their vast medical knowledge and experience with resident physicians and medical students, while inspiring them to remain at the forefront of their medical specialty.
