Aron Liaw, M.D., joins Department of Urology from Wayne State University School of Medicine

Aron Liaw, M.D., has joined the Wayne State University Department of Urology as an assistant professor and as a physician with Wayne Health.

Dr. Liaw, who joined the department in October, is fellowship-trained, with interests in the care of congenital patients, as well as treatment of urethral stricture and erectile dysfunction.

A member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society, he received a master’s degree in Biological Science from Purdue University and his medical degree from Indiana University. After graduation, he performed a General Surgery internship and a Urology residency, both at the Ohio State University.

He completed two fellowships, one in Pediatric Urology at the University of California San Francisco, and one in Reconstructive Urology at the University of California Irvine.

Dr. Liaw, who served as a faculty advisor for the Ohio State University College of Medicine Urology Student Association, was named Resident Educator of the Year for 2012-2013 at the university and received the Courage to Teach Award and the Robyn Howson Housestaff Humanism Award. He was a member of the Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center Ethics Committee.
