Meet the provider: David Ray Bryant, M.D.

David Bryant, M.D., department of Women’s Health at Wayne Health, graduated from Kent State University in Kent Ohio with departmental honors in biological sciences, and from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. He completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at William Beaumont Hospital, winning the Harold Longyear Award for the most outstanding graduating resident. He then completed a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Wayne State University/Hutzel Women’s Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.

Dr. Bryant is an Associate Professor at Wayne State University School of Medicine, Interim Director of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and the Chief of Obstetrics for the Hutzel Women’s Hospital/Detroit Medical Center. His clinical activities cover the all areas of Maternal-Fetal Medicine in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. His main clinical interests include labor and delivery care of both normal and high-risk pregnancies, operative Obstetrics, and the clinical care of maternal medical conditions, especially maternal diabetes, opioid use disorder, and maternal HIV infection. He particularly enjoys teaching residents and fellows in the clinical setting.

Since 2016, he has been presented with the Carl Christensen Award for Excellence in Resident Teaching, the Clinical Attending of the Year, the Outstanding Research Award, and the Sidney Bottoms, MD Award for Excellence in Research Mentorship.
