James Selwa, M.D., M.B.A., F.A.A.N.E.M., Department of Neurology, has special interests in neuromuscular disorders, inflammatory demyelinating neuropathies, Myasthenia Gravis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, radiculopathies, plexopathies and other disorders of the peripheral nervous system.

Dr. Selwa received his B.S. (’78), MBA (’80) and M.D. (’85) from the University of Michigan. He went on to complete an internship with Henry Ford Hospital in Internal Medicine from 1985-1986 and his neurology residency from 1986-1989. He completed a neuromuscular fellowship training at the University of Michigan Hospitals from 1989-1990.

Dr. Selwa’s clinical practice is limited to Electromyography and Single Fiber Electromyography with interests in disorders of the peripheral nervous system and neuromuscular junction including inflammatory demyelinating neuropathies, Myasthenia Gravis, plexopathies, radiculopathies, mononeuropathies, polyneuropathies and nerve injuries. He is active in resident education and helps supervise residents in their general neurology clinics.
