Women’s health during the pandemic from WWJ
May 12, 2021
During the pandemic, many women and men put their health on the back burner. Dr. Sonia Hassan, an expert in women’s health at Wayne State University and Wayne Health, spoke with WWJ health reporter Deanna Lites about the need for women to maintain their health care regimen during these difficult times. “Women are more likely to have gone without health care during this pandemic in comparing that to men.” Hassan recommends that women make an appointment for a routine checkup, get the Covid-19 vaccine and get life-saving screening tests like a mammogram that may have been put off.
