Wayne Health’s Family Medicine and Primary Care providers use a team-based, patient-centered medical home model in caring for members of your family. This includes optimizing your health through wellness promotion and by coordinating care with other Wayne Health specialists to address all of your health care needs.
Family Medicine services are a foundation of the Center for Population Health Accountability (CPHA) at Wayne Health’s 400 Mack Detroit Health Center in Midtown Detroit. At the CPHA, we help families improve their overall health and well-being with a full range of adult and pediatric primary medical and behavioral care.

The department of Family Medicine and Public Health Sciences at Wayne Health and Wayne State University is a national leader in research advancing family medicine and public health sciences. A commitment to education and research is exemplified in all aspects of our work, from the scholarly efforts that we require of our resident physicians, to the many research studies in various specialties conducted by our faculty. We participate in nationally-funded research in many areas, including behavioral science, medical education, occupational/environmental health, practice-based research, community-based research and epidemiology. The department of Family Medicine and Public Health Sciences also serves as the academic home of the metropolitan Detroit, practice-based research network, MetroNet.
