Family Medicine services are a foundation of the Center for Population Health Accountability (CPHA) at Wayne Health’s 400 Mack Detroit Health Center in Midtown Detroit. At the CPHA, we help families improve their overall health and well-being with a full range of adult and pediatric primary medical and behavioral care.
Wayne Health’s Family Medicine providers offer diagnosis and treatment for everything from the common cold to chronic illnesses, in addition to routine screenings, annual check-ups, and other preventive medical services to keep you and your family healthy. Our board-certified physicians offer exceptional care and a patient experience centered on your and your family’s needs.
Wayne Health’s Family Medicine providers demonstrate our core values of excellence, collaboration, innovation, integrity, diversity and inclusion, and social justice – focused around a goal of advancing community health through high-quality patient care and academic excellence.
Physicians and researchers at Wayne Health are also faculty members of the Wayne State University School of Medicine who conduct research and clinical studies. This makes the latest treatments and clinical trials available to you sooner than other health providers without a medical school affiliation.

A commitment to education and research is exemplified in all aspects of our work, from the scholarly efforts that we require of our resident physicians, to the many research studies in various specialties conducted by our faculty. We participate in nationally funded research in many areas, including behavioral science, medical education, occupational/environmental health, practice-based research, community-based research and epidemiology. The department of Family Medicine and Public Health Sciences also serves as the academic home of the metropolitan Detroit, practice-based research network, MetroNet.
